Steps to Becoming a Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher


Qualified persons interested in day-to-day substitute teaching must complete an application packet and participate in a three hour workshop.  ALL WORKSHOPS ARE HELD FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 12:00 P.M at Rogers School, 43 Highland Street, room 054, Lowell, MA  01852. 

Here are the list of upcoming workshops:

  • The next Substitute Workshop for new LPS substitutes will be held on:

 Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 9:00 am

Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 9:00 am 


*ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 20 YEARS OF AGE*

After you may participate in the training workshop, you must complete an application review, CORI check, and reference check.  Your name will not be entered into the active pool of day-to-day substitutes until the Personnel Office has received the results of a CORI check.  If you have earned a Bachelor's Degree, you must submit your official transcripts to receive the degree pay.
